Brooke Tigh, RYT-200, was born and raised in Fresno, California where she began dancing at the young age of three. She immediately developed a love for movement and performing, and a passion for fitness has remained throughout her life. Growing up, Brooke was a member of the California Ballet Company, and has danced professionally for various local teams, including being a featured dancer at Super Bowl XXXII. Always trying new things to mix up her workout routine, she took her first yoga class in 1999. She was lucky to have Michael Fukumara introduce her to ashtanga/vinyasa yoga, and she has been hooked ever since! Over the years, she has also studied with and been inspired by: Claire Petretti, Stacy McCarthy, Tim Miller, Kathryn Budig, Troy Taylor, and Marne Green.
To Brooke, yoga is the perfect blend of strengthening and lengthening the physical body, while cultivating the mind and soul as well. She believes that yoga is a daily practice, both on and off the mat. Her upbeat attitude and knowledge of the physical body immediately translates to yoga with her strong but nurturing adjustments that will help you move deeper into your postures while feeling comfortable and safe. She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training program through Mira Costa College in December 2011, and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). Throughout her training Heidi was there as a friend and fellow teacher and helped as a sort of “mentor” to assist her in growing as a teacher. Since then she has developed a strong teaching style and teaching personality. She teaches a power vinyasa flow style class, set to fun and motivating music, and loves connecting with her students of all fitness levels. Her dance background helps her blend proper physical alignment, core strength, and grace within each pose. Brooke’s individualized attention and humor make her classes dynamic, fun, and playful.
